Biography
When Helen Virginia Sexton was born on January 15, 1837, in Chatham Hill, Virginia, her father, John, was 28,[1] and her mother, Sarah, was 25.[2]
She married firstly Dr. Samuel Goodwin October 15, 1860.[3]
She was widowed when Samuel died April 5, 1863 of Pneumonia.[4]
She married secondly Moses Xerxes Treadway June 21, 1864.
She had three sons with Moses Xerxes Treadway between 1866 and 1872. The children were all born in Smyth, VA:
- Charles Sexton Treadway b. 2 Jun 1866
- William Gateway Treadway b. 14 Dec 1868
- Milton Campbell Treadway b. 13 Sep 1872
She died on February 11, 1891, in her hometown at the age of 54, and was within the Chatham Hill Cemetery.[5]
