Edward Seymour, 8th Duke of Somerset, the son of Sir Edward Seymour, 5th Bt. and Laetitia Popham, was baptized at Easton Royal, Wiltshire on 17 January 1694/95[1]. He married Mary Webb, daughter of Daniel Webb and Elizabeth Somner, on 8 March 1716. He died on 15 December 1757. He gained the title of 6th Baronet Seymour. He succeeded his 4th cousin, Algernon Seymour, 7th Duke of Somerset, as 8th Duke of Somerset and Baron Seymour on 23 November 1750.[2][3]
