His mother passed away in 1825 and his father inherited the Seymour family estate Castleton, County Limmerick in 1831.
John travelled to Italy where he married Caroline Mary Ann Baker on 19 June 1845 in Leghorn, Tuscany, Italy. Caroline was so young they needed her parents' consent to the marriage.
Unknown if they had children.
Sadly John passed away in 1849 at the age of 29.
