Biography
Joel, son of Joash and Phebe (Bronson) Seymour, was born at Watertown, CT on September 1, 1783. He removed to Hingham, MA with his uncle, Noah Bronson, in 1804. He married Polly Whiton, daughter of Zachariah and Kezia (Wilder) Whiton, on September 25, 1806. They resided in Hingham where they raised their seven children and Joel plied his trade as a housewright. Polly died on November 23, 1843 in her 60th year. Joel remained a widow and died more than twenty years later on February 22, 1864 at the age of 80.
