Biography

Digby was born in 1855 in Madisonville, Hopkins County, Kentucky.^[1] In 1870 he lived in Fall River, ward 5, Bristol County, Massachusetts, where he attended Phillips Exeter Academy.^[2] In 1876 he was registered to vote in Jackson, Amador County, California.^[3]

Digby married Josephine Ermine Douglas. In 1910 they lived with their son Charles in Knoxville, Knox County, Tennessee.^[4] In 1920 they lived with their daughter Frances Dempster in Knoxville Ward 16.^[5]

Digby died Tuesday night, December 27, 1927, at the home of his daughter Mrs. George Dempster, in Fountain City, Knox County, Tennessee. He had contracted pneumonia.^[6][7] He was buried at New Gray Cemetery, Knoxville, Knox County, Tennessee.^[8]
