Biography
George Seymour was born in Somerset, England.
George was born in about 1808 to John Carey Seymour (bef.1770-bef.1826) and Dinah Biggs. He was baptised on 01 Jan 1809 in St Nicholas Church, Radstock, Somerset, England.[1]
On 15 April 1827 George married Maria Simmonds in St Nicholas Church, Radstock.[2]
George and Maria had four children, William Simmonds Seymour, John Carey Seymour (bef.1829-1888), Thomas Seymour and Jacob Seymour.
Sadly Maria died on 26 June 1838 at the age of 29. Less than a year later, on 04 Feb 1839, George married Mary Ann Gould in Clutton, Somerset. [3]
In the 1841 census the couple were living in Radstock with George's four sons and a new daughter, Maria. George was working as a coal miner.[4]
By 1851 the couple were still living in Radstock, and five more children had been born.[5]
In 1861 the family were still living in Radstock, and another four children had joined the family. George remained a coal miner.[6]
George died in 1870 and was buried on 11 April at St Nicholas Church Radstock. He was 61 years old.[7][8]
