Robinson was born in 1797 in Madison County, Kentucky. He is the son of William Shackelford and Elizabeth Moore. He passed away in August 1851 in Edmonson County, Kentucky and was buried in Shackelford Cemetery, Mammoth Cave, Edmonson County, Kentucky.[1]
Robinson married Sarah Camp, sister of Joseph Camp who married Robinson's sister Nancy Shackelford, on 13 July 1815 in Warren County, Kentucky.[2] Joseph Camp was bondsmen for the marriage and Hardin Camp, Sarah's father, and William Shackelford, Robinson's father, consented to the marriage.[3]
In 1850 Robinson and Sarah were living in Edmonson County, Kentucky with their children Oliver, Martin and Sarah Shackelford.[4]
Death & Legacy
Robinson's will is dated 14 June 1851 and submitted for probate on 3 November 1851 in Edmonson County, Kentucky. The will names his sons Joseph C Shackelford and Martin Luther Shackelford, daughter Sarah Elizabeth Shackelford, and his wife Sarah. Joseph is appointed administrator of the estate.[5]
