Biography

William Henry Shackelford is the son of George Shackelford and Mary Ann Davis.

William Henry Shakelford 43 born South Carolina, is on the 1850 Federal Census living in Chickasaw, Mississippi. In the household on this census is Martha L 37, b Virginia, Thomas J 17, Tennessee, Jason 14, Laban A 12, Permelia F 9 all born Tennessee, Felix 6 b. Mississippi, Theophelus 2 Female also born Mississippi, and Reuben M 22 b. Tennessee.[1]

He died in Arkansas and there is a copy of his will on Ancestry which mentions Wife Martha E, 4 sons Samuel H, Joseph, Thomas J, and Jason M also a grandson Alonzo Shackelford son of Thomas J deceased.[2]

He was born in South Carolina and died in Arkansas. His Find A Grave record connects to his wife Martha E Westmoreland and some of his children.[3]

Notes

Theophelus doesn't appear as female on any other census records. There is a Theopholus the correct age listed as male. Some people have him as a child of William who married an Elizabeth. I don't believe they are the same person. Rueben Marion is also not listed as a son in his fathers will, he died before his father and according to his find a grave already had 6 children. More work needs done on this family.
