Biography

Merlin was born in January 1829 in Barren County, Kentucky. He is the son of Murrell Shackelford and Sarah Anderson. He passed away in April 1911 in Miller County, Missouri and is buried in Livingston Cemetery, Miller County.[1]

In 1860 Merlin is living in Richwoods Township, Miller County, Missouri. In the household is Merlin's mother, Sally (Anderson) Shackelford and his siblings James, Susan and Allen Shackelford.[2]

Merlin married Mary Forrester on 22 December 1867 in Miller County, Missouri.[3]

By 1880 Merlin and Mary are living in Richwoods, Miller County, Missouri. In the household are their children: James, Henry P, Margaret I, Sarah A, Susan, and William Shackleford.[4]

In 1900 Merlin and Mary are in Richwoods, Miller County. (The census record is not very legible and Merlin's first name has been transcribed as "Henry.") In the household are children: Merced, Sallie, Tilda, Robert, Rosco, Ollie, Earnest, John, and Edith Shackelford.[5]

In 1910 "Myrell Schakford" and wife Mary are still living in Miller County. In the household with them are their children Roscoe, Earnest, John and Ollie.[6]
