Biography
Joseph came to St Louis from Nassau, Germany to work for the Anhueser Busch Brewery. He was a stone mason. They went to St Jo, Missouri to join a wagon train to California (for gold). They stopped in Dos Cabezas to earn money to go on to California. He got a job as stone mason at Ft Bowie. They homesteaded a ranch on the west side of Apache Pass and that is where he died.
