Biography

John Frederick was named after his father, he also had a brother named John M. Shaffer. He married Mary Ann Duke Jan. 24, 1828 in Perry County, Alabama. They had only one child, Martha Caroline Shaffer, who married Robert Watson Barton Oct. 24, 1844 in Perry County, Alabama. They had 13 children.
