Biography

Ollie was born about 1867. She married a Mr. Shafer around 1886. He died before 1900.

The 1900 U.S. Census for Iron Township, Bismark City, St. Francois, Missouri, finds the following family: Ollie Schafer, head, widowed, age 34, born in MO; John R. Schafer, son, age 12, born in MO; Mary M. Schafer, son, age 10, born in MO; Emma Schafer, daughter, age 6, born in Misouri.

Ollie married George Duren around 1903.

The 1910 U.S. Census for St. Francois, St. Francois, Missouri, finds the following family: George W. Duren, head, age 53, born in MO; Olie Duren, wife, age 43, born in MO; Edward Duren, son, age 23, born in MO; Aliza Duren, daughter-in-law, age 26, born in MO; Homer Duren, son, age 4, born in MO; George Duren, son, age 6, born in MO; Emma Shaefer, step-daughter, age 18, born in MO. The translation incorrectly says 'Emma George'; check the original document.
