Tillman was born on 22 Oct. 1865 in Ontario, Canada. He appeared on the census of 1881 in the household of his parents Samuel Shank and Hannah (Raymer) Shank, at Markham, York East, Ontario, Canada.[1] He appeared on the census of 1901 in the household of his parents at York Co., Ontario, Canada.[2] He was killed in an accident on 12 Feb. 1912 and was buried at St Andrew's Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Markham, York County, Ontario, Canada, a photo of his headstone shared with his parents is available. It shows the dates of his birth and death.[3] Tillman never married.[4] His memorial has links to those of family members.[5]
