Brian was born in 1935. He is the son of Arthur Shanks and Grace Arnold. He passed away in 2000.

Brian E. Shanks, 65, of Carbondale Colo. formerly of El Paso, died Saturday, June 10, 2000, at Heritage Park Center in Carbondale.

He was born March 4, 1935, in Cooksville to Arthur and Grace Arnold Shanks.

Surviving are two brothers, Donald of Loganville, Ga., and Bernard (and Ann Marie) of Vienna, Va.; one sister, Jeanne (and Marion) Schirer of Roanoke; three nephews; and two nieces.

One brother preceded him in death.

He served in the Air Force for 10 years.

He owned a gun shop and later was a bus driver, both in Carbondale.

A memorial service will be conducted in Wood Creek, Colo., at a later date. Burial will be in Colorado. Farnum-Holt Funeral Home in Glenwood Springs, Colo., is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
