Biography
When Mahetable Shanks was born on September 20, 1842, in Missouri, her father, Hannibal, was 33, and her mother, Sarah, was 20. She married James M Brumet on September 19, 1866, in Jasper, Missouri. They had five children in 30 years. She died on March 28, 1923, in Jasper, Missouri, at the age of 80, and was buried in Carthage, Missouri.
