Biography

Larry was born April 17th 1890 in Washington DC, the son of James Preston Shannon and Elizabeth Josephine Evans. He married Clizzie Ray Garner January 28th 1914 in Washington DC. Clizzie took her baptism name, Ray Elizabeth, after her marriage to Preston. They had 4 children.

Larry died suddenly on December 23rd 1925, at the age of 35. He is buried in Arlington National Cemetery. He was a veteran of WWI.

L.P. Shannon's Death Interrupts Reunion
Families Had Planned to be Together at Christmas Assembly

Lawrence Preston Shannon, 35 years old, 3538 Park place northwest, died yesterday in the Episcopal Eye, Ear and Throat hospital following a relapse from what had been regarded by himself and his family as a minor operation.

His death interrupted plans Mr. Shannon and his father, Preston Shannon, had made for a Christmas reunion of all members of their families. Mr. Shannon is survived by his wife and three small children, his mother and father, four sisters, Edith M., Elizabeth j., Byril Shannon, and Mrs. Jack Ray, and a brother, Frank E. Shannon.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 9 o'clock in St. Gabriel's church.
