DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:

I believe that our trees are missing a John Shannon born around 1805 to 1812.

John was always the first name of the first male. However Shannon-1301 is the 4th male, where in fact I believe Shannon-1301 is the son of yet another John Shannon born around 1810 to Shannon-1321 and Mary O'Brien.

I have found a John Shannon that lived in St Andrews married to Catherine McElravy. However this would mean John would have been born in Ireland around 1805 and migrated with his parents around 1811.

I have searched records and looked for sources, but cannot find convincing records that there is another John Shannon in the mix. I believe there could be one that died young, but also in the irish naming pattern, first born son are named after the father's father, second after the mother's father? I don't think we are sure of the name of the father of John Shannon (born 1790). .... Cousin Donna
Shannon-2253 and Shannon-1301 appear to represent the same person because: same parents
