Facebook is where extended families communicate these days, and everybody loves sharing images. Here are the types of images that are easy to create and share.

Family Trees

Select the "Share on Facebook" link on any Profile Menu, e.g. the pull-down menu at the top of this page that begins with your WikiTree ID, and follow the simple steps.

Global Tree Connections

It's also easy to share results from the Connection Finder, accessible from the "Global Connections" link on any Profile Menu.

Unfortunately, these instructions will not work if you're using a Microsoft browser. We're sorry.

  1. Click the "GET SHAREABLE IMAGE" button.
  2. Make a mental note on where the image is being saved, e.g. to a Downloads or My Pictures folder on your computer.
  3. Go to Facebook.
  4. At the top of the status/sharing box click the "Photo/Video" link and select "Upload Photos/Videos".
  5. Find the image where you saved it.
  6. Add text like this and click "Post".

Relationships and Relationship Trails

Click a "Relationship to Me" link from any Profile Menu and follow the six steps above.

You can change the size of the image that's created by changing the size of your browser window. For example, if there is too much white space or the image is too wide, you can make it narrower by clicking the button in the upper-right corner of your browser to adjust the browser window.

Click a "Family Group Sheet" link from any Profile Menu and follow the six steps above.

See our gallery of Question of the Week images. Many of these are fun questions for a genealogist to answer, and answering one on Facebook can be a great way to get your friends and family members talking about a family history topic.
