Biography

Etta "Grace" Sharp was born 25 April 1897 in Gerlaw, Warren, Illinois to Harry Franklin Sharp and Rosa Mae Driffill. She married William Sims, son of Mary Hazelwood and Sam Sims, on 9 August 1913 in Davenport, Scott, Iowa.

The 1930 Census shows Grace at 32, living at home in Mercer, Illinois with her husband William and 7 children: Franklin, 16, Rosemary, 14, Dorothy, 12, Charles, 10, Inez, 9, Barbara, 8, and Raymond, 7. All children were born Illinois.

The 1940 Census was also taken in Mercer, Illinois. Grace was listed as 43 and living with her husband, as well as Dorothy, Charles, Barbara and Raymond.

Grace died on 31 August 1960 in Aledo, Mercer, Illinois at the age of 63.^[1] Her husband William preceded her in death in 1954.
