' ' Congratulations' to ' Mr. Isaac Sharp of Burdett, who celebrated his 80th birthday last Thursday. Relatives and friends assembled to wish him all the best at his youngest son's' (Alf) 'residence at 'The Gum's ' Toogong, on Sunday evening, where the guest of honor cut the birthday cake made by his daughter-in-law, Vera.High light of the night was a recitation given by Mr. Sharp himself — 'The Little Fishes. ' Singing by the Misses Coraline, Fay, Dulcie and Judith Sharp was enjoyed by all and a 'Farmyard Mix-up' caused much laughter. Mr. Isaac Sharp, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. H. Sharp, was born at Canobolas in 1871, where neighbors were very distant in those days. He married Miss Lizzie Davis of Brown's Creek, near Blayney, at Orange in 1897 .He spent several years share farming at Cargo and in 1923 took up residence at Burdett, where he still; resides with his wife. Mr. Sharp is hale and hearty, does not wear glasses and can still fell a tree with a winchbar. Mr. and Mrs. Sharp have five sons, Ian (Toogong), Ted (Orange), Charles, (Toogong), Ike (iCanowindra) and Alf (Toogong) and one1 daughter,Blanche (Mrs. Astil, Canowindra) ; twelve grandchildren,(and one great-grandchild. Mr . Sharp is truly a typical Aussie. "
