Cecil, son of James Sharp & Jane Sharp, was baptised on 8 December 1859 in St Paul, Herne Hill, Camberwell, Southwark, England.^[1]residence Denmark Hill.

Cecil's birth was registered in the Jan-Feb-Mar quarter of 1860 in the Camberwell district.^[2]

In the 1861 census Cecil (age 1) was the son of James Thorp in Prince's, Lambeth, Surrey, England.^[3]

In the 1871 census Cecil (age 11) was the boarder of Robert I Hodgkinson in Uppingham, Rutland, England.^[4]

In the 1881 census Cecil (age 21), Undergraduate Camb, was the boarder of Michael F. Hewes at 8 Tennis CT Rd, St Mary the Less, Cambridgeshire, England.^[5]

He married on 22 Aug 1893 in Bedminster, Somerset, England, Constance Dorothea Birch (1862–1928)^[6]

In 1900 he Joined the Fabian society^[7]
