Birth date taken from World Connect. Death date taken from Ancestry.com Tree. Because the World Connect reference shows marriage of Charles and Matilda to have been in Patrick Co. VA, This Charles Sharp is judged to have been to son of John Sharp who died in Patrick Co. VA. (This also seems to eliminate a separate Charles Sharp, with family in Missouri, as son of the Revolutionary War soldier who died in Patrick Co. There was, however, at least one other John Sharp who was a Revolutionary War pensioner - Tattnall County, GA)

The Charles Sharp born in 1777 at Virginia, who married Matilda Anglin, then moved to Alabama, where their youngest 5 or 6 children were born, Matilda and Charles died and buried ... this Charles Sharp had only one wife: Matilda Anglin.

The 6 Nov 1850 U.S. Federal Census included the Matilda Anglin + Charles Sharp family, they reside at District 1, Lauderdale, Alabama. Charles, age 55, born 1795 at Virginia Matilda, age 57, born 1793 at Virginia children living with them, their Surname is misspelled as Shap: Charles, age 21, born 1829 at Alabama Matilda, age 17, born 1833 at Alabama Eliza, age 14, born 1836 at Alabama David, age 9, born 1841 at Alabama
