Private Harold Algernon William Sharp enlisted into the Australian Imperial Force (AIF) on the 2nd of August 1918. His Next of Kin was listed as his father, A H Sharp of 'Fernleigh', Rocky Point Road, Sans Souci, Sydney, New South Wales. He stated previous military service with the 6th Battalion 45th Infantry. At enlistment he was assigned to the New South Wales 22nd Reinforcements and this unit embarked from Sydney, New South Wales, on board SS Wyreema on 14 October 1918.
