Samuel was born in 1896 in Talladega County, Alabama.[1]He was the son of John Sharp and Minnie Roszell.[2], [3]Veteran in WWI but did not go overseas. Got Spanish Flu of 1918.[4], [5]. Married in 1920. [6] In his youth he farmed on his family farm but as an adult lived off the farm and was a mechanic for Birmingham street cars.[7]. In 1930 census last name of Lee incorrectly applied to family. 1940 census record. [8]Helped raise his grandson David Pinson after daughter Inez's divorce and second marriage in 1946. [9]. He passed away in Birmingham hospital in 1951 from heart attack at age 55. [10], [11]

Samuel Edward Lee Sharp was my grandfather. He died when I was only 3 yrs old of a heart attack and I have no memory of him. My mother talked of him with great love as a kind and wonderful father who took her fishing. He was a mechanic for Birmingham Electric trains.
