Robert William David Sharpe[1] was born on May 26, 1871 in Millstream, New Brunswick.[2] He was the son of David Sharpe and Clarissa English. Robert's father died when he was just 8 year old[3] In 1881, he was living in Cardwell Parish, Kings County with his mother and siblings.[4] In 1891, he and his mother were living with his older brother, Abel and his family.[5]
Robert married Clara Lockhart on April 15, 1896 in Westmorland County.[6] They had four children, two of whom died in childhood. The family lived in Moncton.[7] Clara died in 1906.
Robert then married Fanny Frances Renton on Jun 17, 1908 in Westmorland County. They lived in Moncton[8][9][10] and had four children, one of whom died in childhood.
Robert worked most of his life has a brakeman with the Intercolonial Railway (ICR), which later became the Canadian National Railway (CNR). He died on November 15, 1949 in Moncton[11] and was buried in the Elmwood Cemetery in Moncton, NB.[12]
