Robert William David Sharpe was born on May 26, 1871 in Millstream, New Brunswick. He was the son of David Sharpe and Clarissa English. Robert's father died when he was just 8 year old In 1881, he was living in Cardwell Parish, Kings County with his mother and siblings. In 1891, he and his mother were living with his older brother, Abel and his family.
Robert married Clara Lockhart on April 15, 1896 in Westmorland County. They had four children, two of whom died in childhood. The family lived in Moncton. Clara died in 1906.
Robert then married Fanny Frances Renton on Jun 17, 1908 in Westmorland County. They lived in Moncton and had four children, one of whom died in childhood.
Robert worked most of his life has a brakeman with the Intercolonial Railway (ICR), which later became the Canadian National Railway (CNR). He died on November 15, 1949 in Moncton and was buried in the Elmwood Cemetery in Moncton, NB.
