Biography

Robert William David Sharpe^[1] was born on May 26, 1871 in Millstream, New Brunswick.^[2] He was the son of David Sharpe and Clarissa English. Robert's father died when he was just 8 year old^[3] In 1881, he was living in Cardwell Parish, Kings County with his mother and siblings.^[4] In 1891, he and his mother were living with his older brother, Abel and his family.^[5]

Robert married Clara Lockhart on April 15, 1896 in Westmorland County.^[6] They had four children, two of whom died in childhood. The family lived in Moncton.^[7] Clara died in 1906.

Robert then married Fanny Frances Renton on Jun 17, 1908 in Westmorland County. They lived in Moncton^[8][9][10] and had four children, one of whom died in childhood.

Robert worked most of his life has a brakeman with the Intercolonial Railway (ICR), which later became the Canadian National Railway (CNR). He died on November 15, 1949 in Moncton^[11] and was buried in the Elmwood Cemetery in Moncton, NB.^[12]
