Lieutenant Arthur Sharpe was Killed in Action during World War I.
Arthur was born 30 December 1888, Huddersfield, Yorkshire and Baptised 26 January 1889, Huddersfield, Holy Trinity, Yorkshire the son of Arthur Calvert Sharpe & Mary. [1][2]
Lieutenant Arthur Sharpe served in the British Army in World War I Service started: 7 August 1914 Unit(s): Duke of Wellington's (West Riding) Regiment Service ended: 3 September 1916
He enlisted as a private on 7 August 1914 and obtained a commission as 2nd Lt in January 1915 and was promoted Lieut Feb 1916.[3]
Arthur, a Lieutenant in the 5th Battalion, Duke of Wellington's ( West Riding) Regiment was killed in action on 3 September 1916, France & Flanders. [4][5]
He is buried in the Mill Road Cemetery Thiepval.[6][7]
