OBIT 1907-Unknown paper Mr. Jno T. Sharp, Jr., the father of Messers J. D. Sharpe, our post master, Charlie and John Sharp, merchants of our town, Miss Mary Sharp, clerk in the post office and brother of Sheriff W. D. P. Sharp, breathed his last, after a lingering illness near here on Tuesday afternoon and was buried at his home Wednesday afternoon. He suffered much for many long months and we trust that the wearied man has now found rest and his soul the everlasting peace. Beside the children aboved named, of our town, the leaves he following matured sons and daugters. J. T. Sharp, Thad P. Sharp, Thomas Sharp, Barney Sharpe and misses Nannie, Hattie, Martha and Bettie Sharp. religious services were conducted by Rev.____Blank, and then burial by funeral director L. C. Cobb, of our town.

JOHN THOMAS Sharpe, 50, of Wilson Co., NC, died Tuesday, 24 September 1907.

Born on Friday, 17 October 1856, in Wilson Co., NC, he was the son of the late DAVID T. Sharpe formerly of Wilson Co., NC and the late EMILY (Sharpe) formerly of Wilson Co., NC.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, NANCY "NANNIE" (Farmer) Sharpe, daughter of the late JESSE Farmer formerly of Wilson Co., NC and the late MARY "POLLY" (Batts) formerly of Wilson Co., NC.

JOHN THOMAS is survived by ten children, Hattie Lula Newton and her husband John Thomas Newton of Wilson Co., NC, Jesse David and his wife Minnie Scott (Whitehead) of Wilson Co., NC, John William and his wife Cora J. Lee (Batts) of Wilson Co., NC, Charles Clay and his wife Alice Rosa (Mears) of Wilson Co., NC, Mary Emma of Wilson Co., NC, Thaddeus Pender of Wilson Co., NC, Martha Margaret of Wilson Co., NC, Elizabeth Rosa (Bettie) of Wilson Co., NC, THOMAS FARMER POPE of Wilson County, N. C., and Nancy Elsie Bomma of Wilson Co., NC; one brother, William David Pope Sr. and his wife Elizabeth “Betty” (Forbes) of Wilson Co., NC; three half siblings, Charles D. Womble of Wilson Co, NC, Bettie (Womble) of Wilson Co, NC, and Mary Ella (Womble) of Wilson Co., NC; seven grandchildren, John Thomas Newton Jr. of Wilson Co., NC., Royal Lee James Newton of Wilson Co., NC, Donald Earl Newton of Wilson Co., NC, Johnnie David of Wilson Co., NC, Charles Clifton of Wilson Co., NC, Nannie Leigh, and Jesse Marvin of Wilson Co., NC.
