Biography

Mervyn was born about 1916. He passed away in 1964.^[1] He is buried in the Drayton and Toowoomba Cemetery, Queensland.^[2]

In 1938, Mervyn married Kathleen Fuller.^[3]

During the Second World War Mervyn served in the Civil Construction Corps.^[4]

In the 1943 Electoral Rolls for Oakey, Mervyn James Sharpe, ganger, and Kathleen Sharpe, home duties, are registered at Kingsthorpe.^[5] In the same year in the Helidon rolls they are registered with the same details at Perseverance, via Hampton.^[6]

In 1946, Mervyn married Olive Margaret Stanley.^[7]

In 1952, in giving evidence in relation to a road accident, Mervyn stated he was a married man residing at Mulgildie and employed as a truck driver by A. V. Ferguson, road contractor. At July 1952, he was carting gravel from Splinter Creek along the Monto-Eidsvold road to the new Monto-Mulgildie road.^[8]
