Has the New Member How-To been helpful or left you with any questions?
I am here to help with any problems or queries you may have. Just click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page or send me a private message. Sometimes links don't work in emails. If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile. The links will work from there.
Welcome to Wikitree. There are 177 people collaborating on various branches of the Barnes family. If I can be of assistance, please contact me. If you trace your roots to my Irish immigrant, Brinsley (1713-1794) [Barnes-1145] or Solomon [Barnes-368] also an ancestor, by all means letss connect. I operate a website devoted to Brinsley and Solomon Sr. (1751-1807) both of whom migrated to what became Wilkes County, NC in 1777. Solomon arrived in what was then Rowan County in about 1771. Brinsley arrived in Wilkes about 1784. At the time this was Indian Territory. Solomons roots are English, and he descends from James and Keturah Shipley Barnes. The website also discusses their descendants who migrated to Kentucky, Indiana, and Missouri. Brinsleys Irish family has been in America since 1734. The two families have seven Revolutionary War Patriots, one served under Washington at Valley Forge. Thanks for volunteering! You are now a full member of the WikiTree community, and can start adding your family. Let me know if you have any questions.
Since WikiTree is different from other genealogy sites, we have a guided tour for new members at New Member How-To. Feel free to work through the How-Tos at your own pace.
Once you add profiles to WikiTree they become searchable and in my experience persons interested in these profiles will contact you and may provide further information to expand your family tree.
Great to have you on board, enjoy, and good luck growing your branches.
How is it going so far. Was the first page of the How-Tos helpful or did it leave you with questions?
We want to help! Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.
