In Bethia's father's will from 1723 John Lovit refers twice to the surname "Howard." First to "my Daughter Bethia Howard" and second, to "my [son] in Law Nehemiah Howard."
Children, all 6 born or christened in Beverly Massachusetts.

Downey-1809: It would appear that Nehemiah Hayward should be removed as spouse since her husband is "of salem". I find no wikitree profile for a Nehemiah Haward/Howard born in Salem. Suggestion: create a Nehemiah Haward or Nehemiah Howard with birth location as Salem and link him as her husband and remove Nehemiah Hayward.
Downey-1809: I don't think Ruth (born 1733) is child of Bethia Lovett. Ruth is born in a different area of Massachusetts. Ruth is likely the daughter of the couple referred to in 3rd marriage in Comment from Gene X below. e.g. Vital Records of Salem, Massachusetts, to the end of the year 1849 (Salem, Mass: The Essex Institute, 1916-1925) 6 vols., 3:481; digital images, Hathi Trust; he is Nehemiah Hayward of Hingham, she is "Bithiah Shaw." Suggestion: Remove Ruth as child of Nehemiah Haward/Howard.
Downey-1809: adding to the confusion is 5 of the 6 children born in Beverly above list surname of Hayward. However, if the comment about 1729/1730 Hayward-Shaw marriage on Nehemiah Hayward is correct then all the children above would be correctly tied to Bethia (Lovett) and Nehemia Haward/Howard.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Bethia by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Bethia:
The profile of Nehemiah Hayward (bef.1670-bef.1757) has him Hayward aka Howard and reports three marriages--one at Marblehead (1693), one at Beverly (1711), both in Essex County, and one at Reading, Middlesex (1737).
John Lovett referred to his daughter as Nehemiah Howard, and the 1711 marriage record calls him Nehemiah Howard.
My notes from 2021 indicated reported the 1711 was Shaw-Howard, while there is a 1729/30 marriage at Salem of "Bithiah Shaw" and "Nehemiah Hayward of Hingham"
Hopefully someone will take the time to sort his out. --GeneJ
Hello Gene, I have tried this morning to figure this out and came up with 2 suggestions (see Research Notes). If I had any info on Nehemiah Haward/Howard of Salem I would create him and link him to Bethia (Lovett-499) Shaw and remove Nehemiah Hayward-371 as her husband.
The various married names of (Howard, Haward and Hayward) for Bethia Lovett makes this very confusing. Specifically, I see your Comment below about "On "janawary 10, 1727," Nehemiah Hayward (signed) and Bethiah Hayward (her mark) submitted statements regarding their receipt of monies from Benjamin Louett of legacies due them under the Last will and testament of John Lovett. Zebulon Hill is witness. [img. 9 in probate file, case 17132.]"
Suspect the second spouse, as Nehemiah "Hayward" may be in error.
In his 1723 will, John Lovit refers twice to the surname "Howard." First to "my Daughter Bethia Howard" and second, to "my [son] in Law Nehemiah Howard."
Marriage as "Nehemiah Hayward" likely confuses her marriage to Nehemiah Howard with a much later Hayward-Shaw marriage, recorded Salem.

Vital Records of Beverly, Massachusetts, to the end of the year 1849, 2 vols. (1906-1907) 2:273 (Shaw); digital images, Hathi Trust; she is Bethiah Shaw; he is "Nehemiah Haward of Salem.";
Howard-Shaw 1711 marriage entry (Salem VR),
Vital Records of Salem, Massachusetts, to the end of the year 1849 (Salem, Mass: The Essex Institute, 1916-1925) 6 vols., 3:523; digital images, Hathi Trust; marriage is "at Beverly"; he is Nehemiah Howard; she is "Bethiah Shaw of Beverly."
Hayward-Shaw 1729/30 marriage [int] (Salem VR)
Vital Records of Salem, Massachusetts, to the end of the year 1849 (Salem, Mass: The Essex Institute, 1916-1925) 6 vols., 3:481; digital images, Hathi Trust; he is Nehemiah Hayward of Hingham, she is "Bithiah Shaw."
While the data field on Nehemiah Hayward profile has a marriage date of 6 Sept 1711, see the comments under "Marriage" for "Nehemiah Hayward, of Hingham, and Bithiah Shaw, int. Mar. 17, 1729-30 in Salem."
Separately, New England Marriages to 1700 (2015), v2:732 (by subscription, AmericanAncestors) has entry for Nehemiah Howard (1670- ___) married to Ruth Clarke, 12 Jan 1692/3; location as Marblehead/Beverly, with "later residences" reported Beverly. The only work consulted for this entry is "Salem 2:135." [At first blush, entry in Salem 2:135 seems to only muddy the water further.]
VR of Marblehead 2:226 has Howard-Clarke marriage, 12 January 1692/3; they are both "of Beverly."
On "janawary 10, 1727," Nehemiah Hayward (signed) and Bethiah Hayward (her mark) submitted statements regarding their receipt of monies from Benjamin Louett of legacies due them under the Last will and testament of John Lovett. Zebulon Hill is witness. [img. 9 in probate file, case 17132.]
Am I missing something?
Has research been done that would address the issues regarding conflict between Nehemiah Hayward and Nehemiah Howard?
