Death and Burial

N. A. Shaw age 87, passed away at Mercy Hospital this morning. A resident of this county nearly all his life he operated grocery stores in West Union and Emmetsburg between 1895 and 1900. Following this he was associated with the Jamison Lumber Company inOelwein for four years, after which he became actively engaged in farming east of here. In 1924 he retired and moved to Oelwein where he has been at home until his death. He was residing at the home of Mrs. Leland A. Hunt his daughter. The deceased is survived by two sons, J. H. Shaw and E. B. Shaw and one daughter Mrs. Hunt all of Oelwein. His wife preceded him in death in 1932 and a daughter mrs. E. E. Rinehimer died at Webster city in 1943. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren. Funeral service will be conducted in the Presbyterian church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. L. W. Hanfer officiating. Internment will be made in Woodlawn cemetery west of Oelwein. The body will lie in state at the Hinz Funeral Home here until the hour of the service.
