First name Joseph or John? His mother's name, Warden, is passed down but morphs into 'Wardin' as a middle name, making it unclear whether that was the correct original spelling for Anne or not.
'John', husband to Jane, is mentioned in a 1854 letter of his father-in-law's as "having a good school" and earning £130/year. See image.
1871 census Orangeville Ontario:

Jane Shaw 18 b. O,
Annie Shaw 16 b. O,
Harriett Shaw 14 b. O,
Bessie Shaw 8 b. O,

In 1881 Joseph is a widower, living with Bessie and James (and not sharing with another family, as incorrectly transcribed).
