Biography

Robert was born in 1796. He is the son to George S Shawver & Mary (Gillespie) Shawver

He married twice: 1st marriage on 25 Apr 1820 to Mary Jane Callison. Together they had 10 children: Isaac Robert 1823-1901; George Washington 1824-1900; James Charles 1828-1904; Abigail 1832-1922; William Cavendish 1833-1901; John T 1835-1917; Andrew C 1838-1894; and Nancy Ann Jane 1841-1923.

After Mary Jane died in 1854 he married on 4 Jul 1856 Cynthia Jones. they had three children: Lycurgus 1855-1939; Leonard 1861-1939; and Rosetta 1862-1925.

He passed away 1 Oct 1871 in Mill Creek Mountain, Greenbrier Co, West Virginia.
