Biography

This baby was one of a set of twins born to them about 1866. This one only lived a short time. The story has it that since this baby was the name sake and they wanted to keep it going, they unofficially gave the same name to the other twin, only the middle name was different, Charles William Shay. But he was born William Shay. Charles Oran Shay born the same day, the other twin, grew to manhood and married and raised a family.

Charles was buried at the Howard Cemetery in Tarrant, Pepin County, Wisconsin, USA.
