Mary Shea was born 01 Aug 1888, and baptized 05 Aug 1888 in Caherciveen, child of Patrick [Shea] and Honora Keating of Coomletter. Sponsored by: Cornelius Shea, Honora Shea.^[1]

Mary daughter of Patrick Shea, farmer, of Coom Letter, and Hanorah Shea formerly Keating, was born 02 Sep 1888 at Coom Letter. The birth was registered by Hanaorah Shwea, mother, of Coom Letter, on 01 Dec 1888.^[2]

Mary Shea appeared in the 1901 census of Ireland at House 3 in Letter, Caher, Kerry, age 12, born Co Kerry, occupation scholar, as daughter to Patrick Shea.^[3]

Mary Gilbert appeared in the 1930 US Census at 1508 North Parkside Avenue, Chicago City, Cook, Illinois, as wife to Dominic A Gilbert. She was aged 36, married, with no occupation, born in Ireland Free State, as were her parents. She had immigrated in 1901.^[4]

Mary Helen Gilbert died 28 Aug 1937 at 1508 North Parkside Ave, Oak Park, Cook, Illinois, United States, age 46, married, a housewife. She was stated to have been born 02 Aug 1891 in Kerry, Ireland, to John Shea and Hanorah Keating. Her husband was Dominic A. She was buried 31 Aug 1937 Mt Carmel Cemetery, Proviso, Illinois. the informant for the death rgistration was A V Cashen.^[5]

The death of Mary Gilbert was announced in the Chicago Daily News 30 Aug 1937: 'GILBERT - Mary Helen Gilbert (nee Shea) of 1508 N Parkside av beloved mother of Robert, Paul, Charles and Jerome, daughter of the late Patrick and Hanorah O'Shea of Caherciveen, County Kerry, Ireland sister of Nora Moran Deborah and Danie O'Shea and the late Hannah Crowley Catherine Busta, John and Michael Shea. Resting at funeral home 217 N Cicero as Funeral Tuesday. 9 a.m. to St Angela church. Interment Mount Carmel.'^[6]
