Flag of USA

Mary Shea was born on January 22, 1838 in Cork, County Cork, Ireland.

By 1857 she lived in Massachusetts, USA, with her husband Frank and their newborn child Joseph. The family lived in the USA, but seemed to visit Quebec on occasion, and eventually moved to Manitoba in 1878.[1]

Mary and Frank had eleven children:

  1. Joseph (1857)
  2. Jérémie (1858)
  3. Emilie (1861)
  4. Frank (1863)
  5. Siméon (1866)[2]
  6. John (1868)[3]
  7. Frederick (1871)
  8. Henri (1872)
  9. Narcisse (1874)[4]
  10. Anna (1879)
  11. Marie Marguerite (1882)

Honnora (1893) is sometimes listed as their child, but is listed as a granddaughter in the 1906 and 1911 Census. Granddaughter makes more sense as Mary was 56 years old when she was born, and there is an eleven year age gap between Nora and the previous child.
