Thomas was born in 1816. He was the son of William Sheaf and Mary Holland and was baptised at the church of St Lawrence in Bidford on Avon. He was the second son of William and Mary. [1]
Thomas married Ann Susannah Fletcher at Charlton Kings on 20 Jan 1842. They were married by licence and the marriage was witnessed by Joseph Coldicutt and Louisa Hill. [2]Thomas and Anne had at least 12 children:

Thomas was active in parish affairs, In 1884 he was elected one of the parish overseers. [3]
Thomas died on 18 Nov 1893 at Marlcliff. [4] According to his death certificate he died of "cardiac disease, decay of nature, exhaustion". He was buried on the 23 Nov 1893 in the churchyard of St Lawrence, Bidford on Avon beside his wife. [5]Their monument reads In loving memory of Susannah Sheaf who entered into rest Dec 16th 1886 aged 67 (Burial Reg Ann Susannah Sheaf) Also of her beloved husband Thomas Holland Sheaf Nov 18th 1893 aged 78. [6]
