Need to confirm Nave origins (family oral history says Alsace-Lorraine, but records seem to indicate Prussia).
Interested in contact with anyone related to Hacker or Schmidt families in Wisconsin during mid-19th century. Particularly looking for info on father of (Michael) Herman Hacker, believed to be Joseph Hacker who died 1864 in TN fighting for the Union.
My great-great grandmother in my paternal line was born a Murray, and her mother a Robertson. Having trouble connecting her father to his proper ancestors - too many people with the same name born in the Aryshire area!
Would love to collaborate with Shear/Shears/Scherer researchers.

Trying to confirm correct Shear lineage (need to confirm William H Shear's father is a descendent of the German Shears in NY, and not the Scottish Shears in the same area.

Hello Heather!

You've been a member for a while so I thought I would check in to see how it's going. Have the How-Tos been helpful or left you with questions? Most of us have questions after all that information!

I want to help! Click my name, send me a private message or ask in the comment section of my page. Sometimes links don't work in emails. If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile. The links will work from there.

PS To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research and scroll down near the bottom of that list and select Research with RootsSearch. There are over 20 websites to access from there.

Sorry - one more note.

One of the Greeters' jobs is to make sure that the tags will work. As I was glancing at your tags, I saw that you're particularly interested in following specific names, and I thought you might be interested in One-Name Studies. It's under Help > Projects, and here's the link:

Have fun on WikiTree,

Hello Heather,

I am pleased to confirm you as a full member, and welcome you to the WikiTree family. Your contributions will go a long way to joining the world together.

I would suggest starting with the New Member How-To pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration.

I am here to answer any question you have, no matter how trivial you may think it is.

Please add as much information as you can, it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site.

Happy tree climbing,

Claire ~ WikiTree Greeter

P.S. If links do not work in an email from WikiTree, try them from the comment section on your profile page.
