Hi,

It’s Germany Project check-in time again! Please respond within the next 2 weeks and let me know if you’re still interested in participating with the Project. Remember, the only requirements for membership in the Germany Project are (1) that you work on at least one German profile every 6 months and (2) that you respond to this check-in.

Since you’re not working with one of our Sub-projects or Teams yet, please look at our main Project page for a full list and let me know which team you’d like to join.

Please respond to this message by posting a reply below or sending me a private message on WikiTree. In your response, we welcome any feedback you may want to give on the project (what you like about it, what you’d like to see us do, what we could change, etc.)

If you ever have any questions, please ask. I look forward to hearing from you soon!

I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Hi Traci,

Yes, I'm still interested! I have started a new job and am putting in a lot of overtime while I learn, but hope to be more active in a few months.

Hi Heather,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working with members of the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus. Review the project pages for special guidelines and to learn how to collaborate with the project members.

Remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles you manage or edit. (See:https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Pre-1700_Profiles#Cite_reliable_sources).

Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

Hello Heather!

You've been a member for a while so I thought I would check in to see how it's going. Have the How-Tos been helpful or left you with questions? Most of us have questions after all that information!

I want to help! Click my name, send me a private message or ask in the comment section of my page. Sometimes links don't work in emails. If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile. The links will work from there.

Cindy ~ WikiTree Messenger

PS To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research and scroll down near the bottom of that list and select Research with RootsSearch. There are over 20 websites to access from there.

Sorry - one more note.

One of the Greeters' jobs is to make sure that the tags will work. As I was glancing at your tags, I saw that you're particularly interested in following specific names, and I thought you might be interested in One-Name Studies. It's under Help > Projects, and here's the link:

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Projects#One_Name_Studies

Have fun on WikiTree,

Hello Heather,

I am pleased to confirm you as a full member, and welcome you to the WikiTree family. Your contributions will go a long way to joining the world together.

I would suggest starting with the New Member How-To pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration.

I am here to answer any question you have, no matter how trivial you may think it is.

Please add as much information as you can, it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site.

Happy tree climbing,

Claire ~ WikiTree Greeter

P.S. If links do not work in an email from WikiTree, try them from the comment section on your profile page.
