Leigh Barton Shearer was born on November 13, 1938, in Middletown, Connecticut. [1] His father, Frederick Shearer, was 58 and his mother, Anna Lundgren, was 34. In 7th grade he had taken classes at Wesleyan University and was a graduate of Central Grammar, Middletown High, and Central Connecticut State University with both a BS and MS.
He married Dorothy Anne Geysen on August 4, 1962, in East Hampton, Connecticut [2] and they had no children. Leigh was employed as a teacher in Middletown at Snow School for 36 years and had worked at Gillette Castle as a seasonal employee for 26 years. He died on February 23, 2009, at his home in East Hampton, Connecticut, at the age of 70, and was buried there at the Skinnerville Cemetery. [3][4]
