Eliza Shearer was born March 30, 1870, in Okolona, Mississippi, a daughter of Thomas N. Shearer and Anna Longstreet (Lucas) Shearer. Eliza died January 11, 1961, married Mahlon Brown. Eliza was a descendant of Captain John Lucas, Brigadier General John Dent and James Fitz Randolph. She submitted two applications to the Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, citing her ancestry. [1] [2]

Eliza "Lillie" Shearer married Mahlon Brown, born November 20, 1868, died July 1, 1956, who is buried with her in the Odd Fellows cemtery, in Starkville, Oktibbeha County, Mississippi. A photograph of the headstone that they share may be viewed on her Find A Grave memorial here:
