Eliza Shearer was born March 30, 1870, in Okolona, Mississippi, a daughter of Thomas N. Shearer and Anna Longstreet (Lucas) Shearer. Eliza died January 11, 1961, married Mahlon Brown. Eliza was a descendant of Captain John Lucas, Brigadier General John Dent and James Fitz Randolph. She submitted two applications to the Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, citing her ancestry. 
Eliza "Lillie" Shearer married Mahlon Brown, born November 20, 1868, died July 1, 1956, who is buried with her in the Odd Fellows cemtery, in Starkville, Oktibbeha County, Mississippi.
