Biography

Kathleen was born in on August 15 1902. She was the daughter of Peter Sheehan and Susan (Hanlon) Sheehan.

Kathleen professed the holy vows and became a Catholic nun, taking the name Sister Mary Lawrence. She worked in Onehunga.

In the Convent of Mercy, Onehunga in 1928, 1935, 1938. This is the St Joseph's School in Church St.

In 1949 she was teaching at Our Lady of the Scared Heart School, Banff Avenue, Epsom.

In 1963 she was teaching at St Mary's, 2140 Great North Road, Avondale.

In 1969 she was teaching at the Convent of Mercy, High St, Otahuhu, now known as McAuley High School.

She passed away on September 8, 1975 aged 73, and is buried at the Hillsborough Cemetery, Auckland.
