Photocopy from Book G, page 279, Washington County, Indiana: "Memorandum of a contract: We the undersigned widow and heirs of Andrew Sheetz deceast have ageed together and with each other to voluntarily divide the real estate of the aforesaid Andrew Sheets deceased there being no will left.... Sarah Sheets widow, Celia Sheets one heir, Susanna Sheets one heir .... Jacob Wright and Sarah Wright his wife, heirs .... Abraham Philips and Polly Philips his wife, heirs." Signed (with their marks) by all seven of the heirs, and witnessed by Frederic Sheets and Edward Newman on 11 May 1832; proved by the justice of the peace 30 November 1832.
Caldwell County, Missouri History, Volume I, Caldwell County Historical Society, 1985, page 176, has an account of The Abraham Phillips Family, written by Loretta Gorham Voyles, a third great granddaughter. She gives the birth and death dates of Abraham Phillips and Mary Sheets Phillips as they are found on their tombstones in Tinney's Point Cemetery, Ray County, Missouri Their children are listed in the article as: "Andrew, who married Jermima Ratts; John, who married Annie Fulk; Jessie, who married Marthie ? ; Abraham, who married Nancy C. Mayall; Frank, who died in the Civil War; Eliza, Mrs. George Kepley, Sr.; Anna, Mrs. Marion H. Motsinger; Barbara, Mrs. Harvey Smith; and Mary, Mrs. Harvey Wright."
The 1850 census for Jackson Township in Washington County, Indiana, shows Abraham Phillips, age 57, farmer, born in PA and Polly Phillips, age 54, born North Carolina. Both are noted as being unable to read and write. In their household are these children: Anny age 23, Barbara age 18, Abraham age 15 (listed as a farmer), Franklin age 10, and Polly age 8, all of whom are listed as born in Indiana.
In the 1860 census, Abraham Philip age 68 born Virginia is in Pierce Township, Washington County, Indiana, with Mary age 63 born North Carolina, Barbery age 29 born Indiana, and Mary age 18 born Indiana.
In the 1870 census, Mary Phillips age 73 and Celia Sheets age 64 are shown living with Mary and Harvey Wright in Davis Township, Caldwell County, Missouri. Both Mary and Celia are reported as born in North Carolina.
