Eugene Sheets was born in Appalachia, in Virginia.

Eugene Sheets was born on 7 May 1933 at Elbert, Tazewell County, Virginia, United States. His parents were Andrew Jackson Sheets and Georgia Carretta (Osborne) Sheets. In the 1940 census Gene (age 7) was the single son of Jackson Sheets in Adkin Magisterial District, McDowell, West Virginia, United States.^[1]

Eugene (age 28) married Mary Martha Hankins (age 31) on 3 April 1961 at Tazewell, Virginia, United States.^[2] They did not have children.

Eugene was a construction worker. He died (age 77) on 6 May 2010 at Cedar Bluff, Tazewell, Virginia.^[3] He was 76 years old and is buried at Greenhills Memory Gardens, Claypool Hill, Tazewell, Virginia, United States. ^[4] His obituary appears in the Bluefield Daily Telegraph newspaper, Bluefield, Mercer,West Virginia, United States.^[5]

Mary passed away on 9 Jun 2013. She was 83 years old and is buried beside Eugene at Greenhills Memory Gardens. ^[6]
