Biography

Sarah Sheffield, daughter of Francis Sheffield and Elizabeth Unknown, was baptized on the 28 Jun 1679 in Great Brickhill, Buckinghamshire, England.[1]

Sarah married Chris Lawson on the 9 Jul 1705 in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, England.[2] Together they would have at least five children; Sarah, William, Elizabeth, John and John.

Research Note

Sarah Sheffield Lawson died before 1729, the date of the probate of her father Francis' Will as she was not listed.[3] (If she had another daughter Sarah as listed in her father's Will, it would've been after 1720)

Sarah is listed on her grandfather Thos' Will of 1680 in Great Brickhill.[4]

It seems likely that a second Sarah Lawson was born as the mentioned Sarah Lawson was dead 9 years before Francis Sheffield's will was written.

We might presume another Sarah was born after 1720, but have no evidence of it which seems a bit odd since the other records are there though it wouldn't be the first time. Perhaps the death record was incorrectly named/dated too. Don't know? Updated notes to reflect discrepancy until new information becomes available. Might have to purchase Lawson birth/baptism and burial recs to find the records from BucksFHS - but NMF (not my family)!
