DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Nathan by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Nathan:
Hi Christine, I adopted this puppy, so still trying to work out the kinks. If you have any good sources, that would be wonderful. If you want to apply to the trusted list, I welcome the help.
Regarding marriage, It's not unheard of being married at age 16, much more common back in the old days. Could find the source for that on this profile, but did find that date on a Find-A-Grave memorial.

That looks to be a different Sheffield (as it also has the old death date that I recently updated).
The birthdate of 1714 is not compatible with marrying in 1731. Are the parents correct in this profile? I believe the father should be Ichabod & Elizabeth Manchester. More research is needed.
The will and probate of Nathan Sheffield with spouse Dorcas shows he passed away in 1744 in South Kingstown. The will names children and wife Dorcas, it also calls WILLIAM the son of his wife, and his children with his wife: Christopher, Elizabeth, Susanna, Nathan, Amos, Dorcas and John. The will states the name is NATHAN not Nathaniel, maybe a Nathaniel died in 1790?
