Sheldon-3732 and Sheldon-4016 are not ready to be merged because: Insufficient sources to confirm these profiles are for the same person

Sheldon-4016 and Sheldon-3732 appear to represent the same person because: clear duplicate

There need to be better sources before any merge is completed. There is not enough sourced info in common between these two profiles to know that they represent the same person

What sources show his wives? That would be helpful to add since there are no sources showing his birth or parents?

Also, DAR on -3732 only shows one wife

Sheldon-3732 and Sheldon-4016 appear to represent the same person because: This appears to be the same person. One of them shows him married to his first wife, Editha Phelps, the other his second wife, Rebecca Anderson

The Phelps family of America and their English ancestors, page 213 shows Edith Phelps, born 10 Apri 1766, daughter of Barret Phelps married to John Selden (sic) . They had about six children. She died about1792. John married his second wife after she died.

What source shows it was this same John Sheldon that married the second wife. Also, are there any quality sources that tie the John Sheldon that married either or both Edith and Rebecca, to the parents Samuel and Susannna Sheldon? I have not been able to find any.

I did come across a couple of items. May not be the quality source but does tie John Sheldon to both wives.

1) Abstract of Graves of Revolutionary Patriots shows he was buried at Stewart Cemetery, Niagara County, New York

2) FindAGrave Memorial 81125642 shows where he was buried with a headstone. The headstone shows him and his second wife Rebecca

3) A photo added to the memorial page shows NSSAR Patriot application for John Sheldon listing his spouse Editha Phelps (171-1792) bur Kingsbury, NY
