Biography
Nancy was apparently the youngest surviving daughter of John and Margaret Shell--possibly born between her brothers Henry and Isaac. Her YOB is indefinite lacking a death record or gravestone, and the fact she died before the 1850 census. Since there is no record of her family in the 1840 census, she died sometime between when her youngest child was born(~1835) and when her husband married again in 1847.
When her brother James' first wife died, Nancy and her husband apparently took in James' daughter Margaret. She was the extra female, b. 1815-20 in their 1820/30 census. Also, Nancy's husband William 'Bausman' was listed as a witness for Margaret Shell's marriage to Levi Mendenhall in 1841. The Bousmans and Mendenhalls lived next to each other in Elizabeth Twp of Miami, OH.
