Biography

He gives his Cherokee name as Oo-lā-sŭ-tu (or it might be Oo-tā-sŭ-tu) in his Eastern Cherokee Application. He also says that he had no siblings. The following case files are listed as being associated with his file - #7418, #4021, #4017, #29693, #42816, #42817, and #5127. These are for each of his children. #26801 also seems to be on this card, and another number.. #5959X, but the last number is hard to read.

For the question 'By what right do you claim to share? If you claim through more than one relative living in 1851, set forth each claim separately:' he replies - "For myself. For my mother Nancy Shelton. My grand parents Ned Lee and his wife Ta-ka-taw-nee. My grandmother's brother Tontasky(Fontasky?) who died without descent. My uncle John Lee. My uncle Jane Lee, and his wife Na-ki, and their son Kenateeta, all of whom are dead and without descent." - Dated Sept 19 1906

He appears to be on the Drennen roll with his mother Nancy - 538 Flint.
