Biography

Birth

Dorcas Shepard was born at Canterbury, Connecticut,, on 2 May 1751, the daughter of Benjamin Shepard (abt.1722-aft.1792) and Hannah (Goodell) Shepard (1727-).[1]

Marriage

Dorcas Shepard married [[Edward Goodell Jr. (1751-1813) at Pomfret, Connecticut, on 1 Dec 1774.[2] They were first cousins, once removed; Edward was a grandson and Dorcas was a great-granddaughter of Thomas (Goodell) Goodale (1676-1756) and Sarah (Horrell) Goodale (1684-1750).

Death

Dorcas (Shepard) Goodell died at Westminster, Vermont, on 28 Aug 1811.[3] Her gravestone at the Westminster West Cemetery in Westminster West, Vermont, says that she died on 28 Aug 1811 in her 61st year.[4]
