DNA Connections

However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Ann:
Hope your great team (ahead of me by a long shot) can help me figure out a potential red herring in my research. Did this Mary Ann "Ann" Shepherd Garretson also marry a William Viars in NC abt. 1780? Are there 2 Ann Shepherd women who married 2 different John Shepherd men? IF there are, can someone steer me in the right direction and get me back on track? Not able to figure out HOW I came to them being the same person. Obviously I have to resolve. Just to place where I am supposed to be ... I am a descendant of [Viars-7] and [Darnell-328] (supposedly daughter of William Viars (1756-1837) [Viars-8] and Mary Ann "Ann" Shepherd (1758 or 1759-1837) - [Shepherd-1971].
I'm trying to substantiate with better sources and find myself no longer able to see the tree from the forest.
Shepard-1600 and Shepherd-1413 appear to represent the same person because: Same husband and child. Birth differences need to be noted in biography with proper source citations
Thank you for this research! I needed Ann's parents. I can tell you that Ann Shepherd Garrison is in my mtDNA female line; so her haplogroup is H1-T16189C!
